“All That’s Left of You” special screening with Jewish Voice for Peace and Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance

This screening is to commemorate the Nakba and educate our community, it will be followed by Q&A with local Palestinian activist Mohyeddin Abdulaziz & Scholar Dr. Maha Nassar. Donations will go to Middle East Children’s Alliance, fresh falafel stand like it’s done in Palestine!

What is the Nakba? The Nakba refers to the mass displacement and thence cleansing of approximately 700,000 Palestinian Arabs during the 1948 Arab-Isreali war. Occurring around Israel’s independence on May 15, 1948, over 400 villages were destroyed and refugees were prevented from returning, creating the ongoing Israeli-Pelestinian conflict.

What is the movie and why is it important? “All That’s Left of You” is a 2026 critically acclaimed drama which looks at the multigenerational effects of Israel occupation from the Nakba to the present day on one Palestinian family.

Dr. Maha Nassar is an Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern and North African studies at UA, an author of many nonfiction books on Palestinian history and culture, and a Palestinian American herself.

Mohyeddin Abdülaziz is a lifelong Palestinian human rights activist and co-founder of the Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance. he is a proud Palestinian American and an excellent falafel chef.
