We’ll be holding a rummage sale in order to raise money for our work at Estevan Park. For those whoa aren’t aware of our park project, here is a very brief overview of what we do, and why it’s important:  We are striving to make life for our unhoused neighbors living behind the park more comfortable and safe by distributing supplies such as tents, warm clothes, hygiene kits, narcan, and other necessities. We also employ four people to monitor the bathrooms at the park and ensure that they are clean, stocked, usable, and remain unlocked. As we secure more funding and our team grows, we will set up a mobile shower unit for use by the folks living in the encampment. Our ultimate goal is for all the residents of the camp to find secure housing, and we see this project as a temporary, emergency response to fill an urgent need. 

We get reimbursements from the City of Tucson for this work, but we need to fundraise for it first and pay for everything upfront. So why not come out, bring your friends, and buy some cooky goodies while supporting your community? And  you know how we do things at Splinter, it’s gonna be a little bit of a party 😉
