Booking

Thank you for your interest in collaborating with us.

While we’re not currently booking events, we welcome your proposal and look forward to connecting with you once our capacity allows. Your initiative is appreciated, and we’re excited about the potential opportunities ahead!

Thanks for your interest in booking an event with Splinter! Take a look at this page to learn more about who we are, and what we offer in terms of booking. When you’re done, you’ll find a contact email at the bottom of this page that will get you in contact with our booking team. Before you get started, there are a few things you should know:

  • Our space is outside. We have shade structures and propane heaters to make the space more comfortable on very hot, or very cold days.
  • We require anyone booking an event with us to become a member. This means that you’ll read through our values and expectations, and sign that you agree to uphold them while you’re in our space. There is an option to donate as well, if you’d like to.
  • Please aim to get booking requests in about two months before the date of your event. The more notice you give us, the more likely it is that we will be able to accommodate you!

RENTAL RATES

Our rental rates are based on covering costs such as staffing, supplies, and general upkeep of our space and equipment. Our booking team will calculate a space use fee based on the needs of your event. We offer significantly discounted rates for certain community events that align with our values. If you are interested in applying for discounted rates, please let us know in your booking request.

CANCELLATION POLICY

No worries! We know things happen! But please be mindful about cancellation. We prefer to have as much notice as possible, as others may be waiting to use our space. Please send us an email as soon as you know that you need to cancel.

CODE OF ETHICS

The Splinter Collective is a community art space and event venue. We are deeply committed to inclusion, consent, social justice, and abolition. By using the space here, you agree to practice inclusion and non-discrimination with LGBTQI+, BIPOC, disabled, immigrant, undocumented, unsheltered and other disenfranchised communities. Please reference our membership credo for clarity on code of conduct. Breaking our code of conduct may result in you being asked to leave, and/or not welcomed back for future events. Please also note that Splinter is deeply committed to abolition, and we do not call the police under any circumstances.

PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY:

The courtyard is decomposed granite, all one level, and is currently not fully accessible for all wheelchairs. We are working on compacting the granite, so please reach out to the accessibility team to ensure the space is accessible prior to your event if wheelchair access is needed. The bathroom has 2 stalls, one stall has 1 grab bar on the left. The stage has two access points: one has two steps and the other has a ramp with a rail on the right-hand side. There is currently no reserved disabled parking – please reach out in advance if you would like us to set aside a spot near the entrance for disabled parking for your event. The parking is street parking and there is gravel along the curb – there are no sidewalks. The light on the street is dim/poor. There are lights inside around the venue, including a flood light at the entrance that provides good lighting within the venue. There are lights on the stage that can be dimmed and adjusted to be more accessible for individuals on the stage. The space is fully outside, so there is no temperature control for individuals sensitive to heat or cold. We do have outdoor heaters in the winter and shade structures in the summer. There are very loud train whistles sometimes due to our proximity to the railroad tracks.

OTHER ACCESSIBILITY:

We take disability justice and accessibility seriously at Splinter, and we highly encourage events held here to consider ASL, QR codes for text of spoken content that folks can read on their own devices, Spanish translation, a zoom or other virtual option, and captioning.

Good luck with your event, we hope it is a smashing success and look forward to supporting you along the way!
